Technical Tuesday Episode #409: A Vintner x Grand Mahogany Stunner

November 20th, 2018 by

You can’t do wrong with some wine cellar combos. Today’s Tech Tuesday showcase is certainly one of them. This stunner of a wine cellar project has everything a discerning wine collector could as for. Let’s check it out in closer detail!

Project # 310783
Wood: Vintner / Grand Mahogany
Bottle Capacity: 1836
Where: Fort Wayne, IN

The location for this wine room in the client’s home was an ideal one. As you can see, this is a basement cellar with generous floor area. So the challenge for the WCI design team was to utilize all that space to its full potential. Naturally, they also had to stay within the client’s budget. The Vintner Series was once again instrumental in accomplishing this goal. Here you can see that the racking assembly exhibits varied racking styles. You have Individual Bottle Storage, Open Diamond Cubes, and Rectangular Bins. These can easily accommodate individual and bulk bottle storage for a little over 1800 bottles:

While the room is spacious, it does have sharp angles and corners. In order to conquer those angles and corners, crown and base moldings were utilized. Keep in mind that Vintner actually offers these molding packages. While these are generally custom amenities, you can acquire them with the Vintner Series wine racks kit. The same is true for the center seam trim. The latter helps make your racking arrangement come together more seamlessly. It covers the gaps when you stack your racking units. As you can see from the photo below, the racks are fitted perfectly. It definitely has a custom feel to it. But the great thing about this is that the client didn’t pay a “custom” price that would go beyond their budget.

Earlier we mentioned that this one of the wine cellar combos where nothing can go wrong. And one of the major reasons for that is the wood option. Vintner offers a slew of wood choices and the client went with unstained Grand Mahogany. If you follow the blog quite faithfully, you might notice the increase in Grand Mahogany projects this year. Customers have been leaning towards this wood option more and more. It’s no surprise though. Grand Mahogany is very visually appealing, with its uniform colors, ranging from medium browns to pale pinks. It is also a high quality wood, matching up to Sapele, Hard Maple, or Cherry. You can browse more wine cellar projects with this wood choice in our photo gallery. Come Check Out What’s New With The Vintage View Series!

November 19th, 2018 by

New product launches always bring a lot of excitement and anticipation. We can’t wait to show our patrons and potential customers what we’ve come up with for their wine storage needs. But more importantly, we want to know how well our new product will be received. That’s because 100% customer satisfaction is always the primary goal! So this time around, we’d love for you guys to check out these new additions to the Vintage View Series. They’re especially designed for commercial wine cellar applications and absolutely a must-have:

Welcome the Vintage View Display Racks!

Vintage View has unleashed an amazing collection of display racks for commercial wine storage purposes. The racks carry the series’ signature label-forward system. But on top of that, display rows were added to help showcase popular and/or new labels. The racks also come in half island display extensions and deluxe packages. There is ample bottle storage per unit which is perfect for stores with fast growing merchandise. The units are designed in such a way that the bottles are raised a few inches off the ground. This helps prevent accidental kicking or other injury to the merchandise. It’s a lot like the Vinyl Base and Base Platform options for our commercial wood wine racks. And here’s the fun part! The display racks are available in standard Black or Brushed Nickel finishes. But you can choose to be a little more adventurous and go for custom colors instead. All you need to do is fill up the Design Request form to receive a quote. Some of the custom colors to choose from include Copper, Rustic Red, Antique Brown, and a vibrant Lime option.

Invest in the Point of Purchase Display Rack!

Also joining the Vintage View family is the Point of Purchase Display Rack. This is a freestanding unit that can hold up to 24 standard-sized bottles┬áin the base and 3 bottles in the top presentation rack. That’s a total of 27 bottles for just one unit. Moreover, multiple racks may be connected side by side or placed back to back. It allows the creation of an uninterrupted racking assembly for one’s wine establishment. Since these commercial racks are not configured for stacking, this was the solution. Thanks to this, the space-efficiency and storage capacity of the display racks are not diminished. Check out the complete collection now and don’t miss out! ^_^

Clients Sing Praises To WCI Products And Customer Service

November 15th, 2018 by

Our client Chris declared that working with the WCI team was definitely the right decision on their part. So when their home wine bar was completed, we couldn’t wait to show it off. Here’s a terrific shot of the racking assembly using our Vintner Series racking units:

Gorgeous Vintner tasting center

Again, Vintner was able to deliver a flawless set-up that worked perfectly with the designated space in the client’s home. You will notice that this racking assembly is set up against the wall. Under ordinary circumstances, this wine storage would have to be fully customized. But thanks to the flexibility of Vintner wine racks, everything fit like a glove.

The anchoring point of this racking assembly is the Vintner Individual Tasting Center. It comes with tons of individual bottle storage, glassware storage, as well as a tabletop option. From there, the client was able to augment the tasting center with other pieces from the series. Solid Diamond Cubes were added and Quarter Round Displays on both ends. Lastly, crown and base moldings and center seam trim were incorporated to bring it all together. The end result is this beautiful wine storage that looks professionally done. There are no gaps between the racks, ceiling and floors. It certainly has a built-in feel to it!

Grand Mahogany was the wood choice for this project. If you’ve noticed, the client went for the unstained version of the wood. You can see how Grand Mahogany’s pinkish to almost white colors really standing out. This is why it’s one of our top wood options. Exceptional quality aside, Grand Mahogany is also very easy on the eyes. It has uniform color and a relatively straight grain pattern. It also takes stains and finishes extremely well, should you choose to go that route. Needless to say, the clients were 100% satisfied with the outcome. They were able to smoothly work with WCI products, as well as with our design consultants.

“Working with Wine Cellar Innovations was the right decision. Amy made the design process look easy and was in great communication with me the whole time. The product is so well made with robust instructions and videos to reference. I always knew that the Wine Cellar Innovations team would be there if we ran into problems or needed help along the way. We love the final product and would highly recommend Amy and the team at Wine Cellar Innovations to anyone looking to create a showpiece for their home!”

Wine Cellar Inspirations: Accessorizing Your Refrigerated Wine Cabinets

November 14th, 2018 by

Time and again, we’ve shared on the blog the reasons why refrigerated wine cabinets are pretty amazing. They are able to provide proper wine storage even in limited spaces. Moreover, they can be tailored according to one’s budget. And not only that! It’s also easy and enjoyable to customize them. By accessorizing, you can make these wine cabinets truly your own. We’re going to share some of these ideas with you today and get you inspired with them:

Add a French Door entry!

Adding in a classy French Door entry

First up is probably our most favorite add-on: the French Door entry. You can actually choose this custom option with our Wine Sentinel refrigerated wine cabinets. A French Door adds a lot of class and character to the wine cabinet. It also lends the illusion of having a much bigger storage. Here at WCI, our doors are equipped with proper insulation values and weather-stripping. You can also have your windows tinted. This will minimize light exposure to protect your bottles.

Embellish with Quarter Round Displays!

Embellish with Quarter Round Displays

The great thing about refrigerated wine cabinets is their storage versatility. What do we mean by this? It means that you can keep more than just your wine bottles in them. That’s why they’re the best alternative to a formal wine cellar when you can’t have one. For example, you can also store wineglasses, decanters, and other glassware in your wine cabinet. That also includes decor and other odds and ends. Embellishing your cabinet with display shelves is the way to go. Our favorite is definitely the Quarter Round Displays. These can be installed one one or both ends of the cabinet. They will also help give your cabinet a truly finished appearance.

Stain, paint, or finish your wine cabinets!

Stain, paint, or finish for a unique look

Since wine cabinets are mostly comprised of wood materials, you can actually do so much with them, style-wise. Wood is a versatile material to work with, particularly those of impeccable quality. Our top picks would be All-Heart Redwood, Premium Redwood, Rustic Pine, and Grand Mahogany. We also have a soft spot for Sapele and Cherry. These wood species absorb stains and finishes extremely well. They also transform beautifully when painted. By dressing up your wine cabinet, you can match it with any existing interior furniture or decor. This is also how you can make that cabinet sport that “built-in” look.

Do you have more ideas for accessorizing your wine cabinets? We’d love to hear them, so comment down below! ^_^
